How quickly time passes! During her holidays of two weeks one of our former protégées gave computerlessons to the girls. The youngest ones were introduced to the medium and the elder girls could consolidate their existing knowledge, everyone working with highest concentration.
The winter wasn’t as frosty as expected. Winterterm passed very quickly and after a short springbreak the end of the schoolyear is now drawing nearer with big steps.
The new schoolyear started with a good rain season for which the whole country longed. The Omaruru river was running several times what is always a very exciting event. One of the girls finished Primary School last year and went to Highschool so we accepted a new child going to Grade 1. As she is the cousin of two girls who live already in Siama and grew up with them on the farm, she didn’t have any problem to settle quickly.
In February a young Godfather came to visit Siama. On one weekend he invited the girls to go to the Crocodile Parc in Otjiwarongo. Beside the exciting experience with these big animals they had a good romp on the playyard. It was a fantastic day for everyone as you can see on the pictures!
End of September the popular „Artist Trail“ takes place in Omaruru. Mainly local artists are doing exhibitions, perform theatre plays and concerts and organize workshops for the visitors. The girls also participated with enthousiasm in crafts, drawing and fabric painting workshops. And as you can see the results are very nice…
Before the children left for the summer holiday, we had a Christmas Party at Siama. There was a barbecue for lunch and as present a nice T-Shirt for every girl. In the afternoon they did a lot of games and of course had some icecream a a christmas cake. A big thank you to Renée and Albert from Luxembourg who made this possible!
